FOX To Sign More American Idol Season

For the past few days upto the present, rumors have been flying aroun the American Idol Season 9 will be the last AI season, this is due to the buzz that prominent AI judge Simon Cowell is leaving the show after this next Idol season to focus on bringing his hit UK show X Factor to the US. But FOX, the network that airs American Idol has a different plan for the top-rating talent search that defined the 2000's.

FOX is almost close in signing more American Idol Season with or without Simon Cowell. The network's contract with 19 Entertainment and Fremantle Media, the producers of Idol extends upto the year 2011, but FOX offers a new deal for at least 3 more Idol seasons, but that number could still change depending on the result of deal.

The Idol Franchise was sadened by the rumors that Cowell is leaving American Idol, and that rumored was confirmed by Simon's brother Tony Cowell on his daily Podcast. But despite of those rumors FOX is very optimistic about the issue, the network even foresees an agreement with SONY, the owner of the Factor Franchise, that agreement includes borrowing Simon Cowell to take part of the Hollywood rounds judgement, that is in case Simon would really leave the Idol Franchise.

We'll, this things are'nt over yet, we have to wait for further developments, but I think FOX is righht in it's decision to go on for more AI Seasons, yes the ratings could slip without Simon and the intensity of the show could decrease but that's entertainment, it's all about rising to the challenge and reinventing the show to keep it's staying power, for sure they could find a suitable replacement for Cowell.
