Ang Panday and Mano Po 6 Dominates the 35th MMFF Awards Night

"Ang Panday" and "Mano po 6 (A Mother's Love)" grabbed the major awards in the 35th Metro Manila Film Festival last night at the SM Mall of Asia Convention Ground. For his portrayal as Lizardo in "Ang Panday", Phillip Salvador won the Best Supporting Actor Award for second time in a row(for "Baler" last year), while his best friend Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. took the Best Actor Award for his portrayal as Flavio in "Ang Panday". "Ang Panday" also won the 1st Best picture Award. For "Mano Po 6", Sharon Cuneta won her 1st ever Best Actress Award in MMFF, and Heart Evangelista clinched the Best Supporting Actress Award. "Mano Po 6" also won the Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Award Cultural Awards. The "Comedy King" Dolphy received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his conributions and excellence in the Philippine Movie Industry.
